Throughout this five-day course, participants will gain hands-on experience in the techniques and processes used to create period hair for professional film and television productions. The course explores how historically informed hairstyles can be researched, prepared, constructed, and adapted for the screen, giving participants the practical skills and confidence to approach a range of period looks.
Participants will develop an understanding of how hair contributes to character, period, social status, and visual storytelling. Using historical references alongside practical demonstrations, the course will examine the shapes, silhouettes, textures, and styling methods associated with different periods and how these can be recreated effectively for contemporary performers and the demands of filming.
