Service Description

Step into the world of character creation in this two-week intensive course for 16–19 year olds at Pinewood Studios. Through hands-on workshops, you’ll discover how hair, makeup and costume work together to transform performers and bring characters to life on screen. You’ll explore character research and design, makeup for camera, hair styling, costume and styling, colour and texture, as well as the importance of continuity and collaboration on a professional production. You’ll put these skills into practice by responding to creative briefs and developing complete character looks from concept to camera, learning how to interpret a script, create mood boards and translate ideas into practical designs. Along the way, you’ll gain insight into how Hair, Makeup and Costume departments work on film and television productions and discover the range of career opportunities available within these creative disciplines.
