Rebecca Alleway

After completing her studies, she spent two years designing sets and costumes in the theatre before she moved into music videos and television commercials. She was an assistant and then an Art Director for a number of years before she was given her first Set Decorating job, which she has been doing for over twenty years. In 2009 she was nominated for an Oscar for her Set Decoration on the film The Duchess. In 2012, she won the WAFCA award for her work as part of the design team for the film Cloud Atlas. They were also nominated for the Art Directors Guild and the Academy of Science Fiction, Fantasy & Horror Films. Cloud Atlas also won Best Production Design at the German Film Awards in Berlin in 2013. Working as a Set Decorator has led her to work in many countries around the world including Russia, Lithuania, Latvia, Hungary, Belgium, Germany, Morocco, South Africa and the States. She has had the good fortune to work with hugely talented Production Designers and Directors, including Lasse Hallstom, Kevin Macdonald and Tom Tykwer in collaboration with Andy and Lana Wachowski (the Directors of The Matrix) on an adaption of David Mitchellﾒs book Cloud Atlas.
