In February, we were delighted to announce our latest partnership with Mulberry UTC, marking an exciting step forward in our commitment to inspiring and supporting the next generation of filmmakers.
At Creative Media Skills Institute (CMS), based at Pinewood Studios, our mission has always been to bridge the gap between education and the film & TV industry—ensuring that young creatives have direct access to real-world training led by industry professionals.
That’s why partnering with Mulberry UTC felt like the perfect fit. Many students may not have exposure to the creative industries or realise the wide range of career opportunities available within them. Mulberry UTC shares our belief that access to industry training and knowledge should be open to all, helping students discover and pursue their creative ambitions.
Through this collaboration, Mulberry UTC students will gain hands-on experience, industry insights, and mentorship opportunities, equipping them with the practical skills and confidence needed to step into careers in the fast-paced world of film and television.

Continuing Our Collaboration with a Cinematography Workshop
As part of our ongoing commitment to inspiring and supporting the next generation of filmmakers, CMS recently visited Mulberry UTC for another hands-on workshop, equipping students with real industry skills.
We’ve collaborated with Mulberry UTC before, delivering a range of industry-led workshops and in our latest session, CMS tutor and cinematographer Jackie Teboul led a lighting and camera workshop, giving students a practical introduction to how light shapes a scene and impacts storytelling.
"The workshop went really well! The students were engaged, enthusiastic, and eager to experiment. We analysed film lighting references, explored how to manipulate light placement and contrast, and worked hands-on with balancing daylight and artificial sources. It was great to see them start questioning what they liked and how they wanted to achieve certain moods on screen.” – Jackie Teboul, Cinematographer & CMS Tutor
Throughout the session, students were encouraged to think like directors of photography, breaking down how lighting decisions impact mood, composition, and character development. The workshop also involved experimenting with different light sources—including a session in Mulberry’s costume-making space, where students balanced natural daylight with artificial lighting.
What’s next?
At CMS, our Level 4 UAL training courses provide the perfect next step for Mulberry students looking to turn their passion for film & TV into a career. Our training is FREE for under 19s, and we’ve already welcomed our first Mulberry student onto one of our programmes this year.

This partnership is designed to create a direct pathway from sixth form into industry-led training, giving students hands-on experience, mentorship, and real-world opportunities to build their future in film and television.
We’re excited to continue working with Mulberry UTC and look forward to seeing more of their students’ progress onto our courses and into the industry.
