BFI Film Clubs

Delivered by

Creative Media Skills Institute

This project is funded by The National Lottery and Department for Digital, Culture, Media, and Sport.

Pinewood Studios based Creative Media Skills Institute work hand in hand with the industry and the companies that support it, to facilitate their specific and targeted training requirements at the top level.

CMS Institute are proud to deliver this special project with the British Film Institute, to provide fully funded five-day training courses for young people attending pupil referral units across the U.K.

This project is aimed to provide education, training, and accessibility for those aspiring to enter the film industry and those who may not be aware of the opportunities that the film industry holds for those coming from all backgrounds and those with diverse voices. Successful industry professionals will share their skills and knowledge in an intimate and comfortable setting in order to inspire a new generation of story tellers who may not otherwise experience this opportunity.

The Department for Education priority areas where these sessions will take place in are:

  1. Stoke-On-Trent

  2. Ipswich

  3. Oldham

  4. Derby

  5. Norwich

  6. Bradford

Course Start Date: 03/05/2021

Course Finish Date: 27/08/2021

The five-day course will be a film making journey, to understand the different stages of film production and what goes into making a film. We aim to ensure the courses will focus on inspiring learners and giving them some authentic film skills and motivational insight. We wish to leave each class with empowered aspirational young people with a focus and some ideas on what a job in film could mean for them.
